IN: TRANSPO Wins Safety Award and Appointment to ITA Board

South Bend Public Transportation Corporation (TRANSPO) won the Indiana Transportation Association Safety Award for 2012. The honor was announced July 24, at the ITA’s 79th Annual Meeting in Lafayette, Ind.
TRANSPO experienced a 72 percent reduction in preventable fleet accidents in 2012 and operators were preventable accident-free for a record setting 166 days.
“This honor reflects our commitment to safety and the dedication of our operators, mechanics and entire TRANSPO team”, said David Cangany, TRANSPO general manager.
Cangany’s transportation expertise was also recognized as he was elected first vice president of the Indiana Transportation Association Board of Directors at the annual meeting.
