Greetings:
As the Mayor of the City of Atlanta, I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to the attendees of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Annual Meeting.
The APTA Annual Meeting is an opportunity for leading corporations and providers in the transportation field to gather and discover emerging technology developments that will advance public transportation. This year’s event will gather over 800 global exhibitors to explore new visions and showcase the latest industry inventions and services. The annual meeting will welcome more than 12,000 industry peers to exchange and discover inventive solutions to enhance the future of the public transportation industry. I am confident this meeting will provide your members with an important forum to network, empower and innovate.
Atlanta is the perfect location for such a conveying. For the past seven years, my Administration has worked to build a better, more sustainable city that is ready to compete in the 21st century economy. We are investing more than $550 million in infrastructure and transportation, which we believe will put Atlanta on the path to be one of the most connected cities in the country. Through our Renew Atlanta and TSPLOST programs, we will eliminate an infrastructure backlog, modernize our transportation system and expand the region’s transit system and mobility options for the first time in decades.
While in our city, I encourage attendees to explore the many forms of transportation and attractions Atlanta has to offer. On behalf of the people of Atlanta, we invite you to share in our Southern hospitality, sample cuisine at our many fine restaurants and enjoy the rich and diverse heritage of our city.
Sincerely,
Mayor Kasim Reed
