Transdev has begun operating a new Colorado Springs downtown shuttle for Mountain Metropolitan Transit, expanding the company’s presence in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Phase one of the new, fare-free downtown shuttle service launched on May 22 offering service to a growing downtown area with 13 service stops, including Colorado Springs’ minor league soccer stadium, its college hockey arena and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum. Phase two will be adding additional stops to be announced later this summer.
As part of this partnership, Transdev operates the shuttles and is responsible for scheduling and dispatch.
“We are excited to launch this new service with our client and, in doing so, demonstrate our experience operating a fixed route service,” said Derrick Breun, regional vice president for Transdev’s mountain region. “We’ve worked with them for many years, and they’ve seen our commitment to safety, reliability and customer service through our paratransit contract – this is a new opportunity for us to showcase another element of our expertise, while providing our new passengers the freedom to move and explore their exciting downtown.”
