Transdev recently announced it will begin paratransit operations for the Fulton County Department of Aging and Youth Services, expanding the scope of the company’s involvement in transportation networks in the Atlanta Metro region.
Service begins on Jan. 1, 2017. The company will be responsible for all aspects of paratransit operations and maintenance, including reservation management, scheduling and dispatch, and maintaining the 51-vehicle fleet. Senior Transportation Services—the paratransit brand of Fulton County—provides 290,000 trips per year.
“We are excited to expand our footprint of successful operations in the Atlanta region and deliver high quality service to Fulton County,” said Derrick Breun, vice president of Transdev’s Southeast Region. “We look forward to ensuring a smooth transition when we start operations in the new year and to ensuring excellent passenger care.”
Fulton County is the latest addition to Transdev’s Atlanta Metro-area contracts, augmenting its contracted operations for Cobb County, Gwinnett County, The City of Atlanta, and Georgia Regional Transportation Authority. Nationally, Transdev operates successful brokerage and paratransit operations in San Francisco, Baltimore, Seattle, New Orleans, Las Vegas and over twenty other locations.
