IndyGo is celebrating the American Public Transportation Association’s 9th Annual National Dump the Pump Day with 14 days of events, 2,800 free 10-trip passes and prizes.
“National Dump the Pump Day is Thursday, June 19, but this year IndyGo is inviting people to make a month long commitment to sustainable transit options,” said Mike Terry, president and CEO of IndyGo. “Indianapolis has a great network of transit options, making it very easy for people to get around by walking, biking, taking transit or even car and ride share.”
Every weekday in June leading up to the 19th, IndyGo will be somewhere in the city giving away 200 free 10-trip passes. The Dump the Pump in June promotional passes can then be registered at IndyGo.net and each trip a person takes with their pass will enter them in a drawing for cool prizes, like a Trek 7.3 FX bike and free IndyGo rides for a year.
On June 2 a kickoff event and press conference will be held on the southwest quad of Monument Circle from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The event’s hosted by B 105.7’s Sean Copeland, and includes Blue Bell Ice Cream samples and IndyGo’s new Downtown Transit Center graffiti bus. Various transportation organizations such as Commuter Connect, IndyCog and Pacers Bikeshare will also be on hand.
