WY: Funding Restored for Sweetwater County's STAR Transit

Sweetwater Transit Authority Resources is continuing to work to reduce its deficit, and it has received a little help from local governments.

The Rock Springs City Council voted to give STAR Transit an additional $9,655.36 on Tuesday, bumping the city’s allocation from $28,965 to $38,620.36. The latter is the amount Rock Springs provided the previous budget year.

Earlier that day, STAR Transit Director Judy Owens said four out of five Sweetwater County commissioners told her they agreed to a $11,799 boost — going from $106,191 to $117,990 —  as long as both Rock Springs and Green River approved similar increases.
