In response to Hurricane Irma, Lyft is doing its part to help those in need.

First Lyft is donating $100,000 to a “Relief Rides” program helping those in need get to/from hospitals and shelters after the hurricane, as well as partnering with Team Rubicon to help their volunteers.

  • Team Rubicon works with US military veterans to provide medical triage, incident management, and debris clearing in the wake of disasters — which these veterans are uniquely qualified to do.
  • Lyft is immediately activating the partnership, and are coordinating with local governments, shelters, and hospitals. Interested people who are associated with a hospital, shelter, or local government, please email [email protected] so that Lyft can get them access to a pre-funded account to help those in need.
  • Those who are an individual in need of a ride, please use the code HELPFLORIDA

Riders across the country can also support the American Red Cross through the end of September by opting into Lyft’s Round Up & Donate program through the 'Settings' tab of their Lyft app.

With safety as Lyft's number one priority, the company has temporarily paused Lyft service in a number of Florida cities. Lyft looks forward to re-opening in impacted areas as soon as road conditions improve.
