Lyft Pledges Help During Hurricane Harvey

Aug. 31, 2017
In response to the terrible devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, Lyft has pledged to donate $100,000 to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, a fund established by Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.

As safety is Lyft's top priority, the company has also suspended operations in a number of cities until road conditions improve. Lyft is currently working to coordinate food and supply drives in San Antonio, Austin and Dallas. Lyft is also monitoring conditions closely, in addition to speaking with community members and local officials on other ways it can continue to provide support.

For those looking to help those impacted, Lyft has partnered with the American Red Cross — riders can round up their fare on your Lyft ride between now and the end of September, and donate the difference to the Red Cross’ response efforts. Riders can opt in to Round Up & Donate in the 'Settings' tab of the app.
