On the heels of its acquisition by Ford Smart Mobility, TransLoc has announced the company will organize into three primary business units going forward - Municipal Mobility, Campus Mobility and Mobility Information. Effective immediately, this reorganization is intended to accelerate market growth, optimize operations and continue to deliver a world-class customer experience.

“We have a big, ambitious mission to make transit the first choice for all,” said TransLoc CEO Doug Kaufman. “Now, as part of Ford Smart Mobility, the resources needed to scale up our operations are available to move us closer to achieving that mission. With multiple mobility markets and diverse customer needs, we are reorganizing in a way that places both our transit agency partners and their riders at the center of all we do.”

These three newly established, integrated teams will enable TransLoc to accelerate activities and deploy the right expertise to deliver a broad suite of highly-targeted mobility solutions to cities, transit agencies and campuses.

Municipal Mobility. With microtransit customers in more than 50 cities across the U.S., TransLoc has partnered with more municipal transit agencies to roll out flexible, on-demand services than any other provider in the market.

“These are very exciting times for municipal transit agencies as technology brings new forms of mobility to our cities and our citizens,” said TransLoc Municipal Mobility Business Owner Elaine McVey. “Helping to re-position these agencies as mobility integrators, flexible microtransit services are contributing to how municipalities are now reimagining ways public transit can become more relevant, by literally bringing transit closer to their riders.”

Campus Mobility. TransLoc is reinvesting millions of dollars in its university business with the creation of the Campus Mobility business unit, now serving more than 200 campuses nationwide. TransLoc is doubling down to offer the best technology and services available in the university and business campus transit market.

“Mobility on college campuses is changing as rapidly as the world of education itself,” said TransLoc Campus Mobility Business Owner Lenae Storey. “Campuses offer the ideal environments to deploy innovative and secure mobility strategies that emphasize the rider’s experience, multi-modal integrations and rates of adoption by the most tech savvy segment of our population. All of this can significantly inform what is possible in the world of public mobility.”

Mobility Information. One of the biggest needs for transit agencies today is access to actionable data and information. TransLoc’s new Mobility Information business unit has been formed to provide products and services that enable transit agencies to do much more with the data they have, starting with new ways to create, store and manage these valuable resources.

"Using and accessing transit data has been a real challenge,” said TransLoc Mobility Information Business Owner Alex Gibson. “Many times, transit agencies have their data parked in Excel spreadsheets and can’t do much with it. This newly formed business unit is focused on helping agencies better serve their communities and enabling smarter decisions with the insights hidden within this data.”
