The Jacksonville Transportation Authority has announced that 7-day and 31-day e-tickets have been added to available selections on the MyJTA mobile ticketing application. The MyJTA app was introduced in December 2015 with the launch of the First Coast Flyer Green Line.
The app allows customers to purchase and activate single ride tickets, 1-day, 3-day and now 7-day and 31-day e-tickets with the convenience of their mobile device. Customers no longer have to rely on exact change or find a ticket vending machine to purchase passes. Customers can purchase e-tickets at anytime and anywhere with their smart phone. Fares for the St. Johns River Ferry and Gameday Xpress are also available for purchase with the MyJTA app.
Customers using the app can pay for their e-tickets using a credit or debit card. Tickets are then displayed on screen as a dynamic QR code and also contain a countdown timer. Mobile ticketing scanners have been added to the entire fixed route fleet to improve the customer experience and speed up the boarding process.
“We are pleased to offer this feature which allows customers to purchase e-tickets wherever they are and whenever they want, improving their overall experience,” said JTA Chief Executive Officer Nathaniel P. Ford Sr. “The app is secure and allows customers the freedom to travel without looking for correct change or having to manage a physical card.”
The app runs on iOS and Android systems and is available on Google Play or the Apple App Store.
