The Jacksonville Transportation Authority announced the launch of u2cjax.com, a website dedicated to the JTA’s Ultimate Urban Circulator (U²C) program.

The U²C, will transform, modernize and expand the JTA’s Skyway with next generation autonomous vehicles (AV), to provide greater connectivity, reliability, fast and direct service, as well as, sustained economic growth in downtown Jacksonville. The U²C will better connect people and places with more frequent and flexible service, while taking advantage of new technologies in automated vehicles.

“JTA is excited to collaborate with Station Four to launch the new U²C website,” said JTA CEO Nathaniel P. Ford Sr. “JTA is a visionary and innovative agency supported by cutting edge companies like Station Four. We will continue to stay ahead of the curve on our journey to provide customers with a vibrant and robust public transportation system.”

The JTA transformation began five years ago under the Leadership of Ford. It was taken to the next level three years ago when the JTA partnered with Station Four, a Jacksonville digital agency. Together they overhauled the JTA’s main website, created a responsive bus schedules web application, and developed a new procurement portal. But the initiatives taken over the past couple years are just the beginning of the groundbreaking changes headed for Jacksonville.

“Over the past few years our work with the JTA has largely been structural in the sense that we’ve laid the groundwork to support future efforts,” said Station Four President Chris Lahey. “Our team has had the ability to develop some great working relationships across departments at the JTA and we’re excited to push the envelope even more now in order to help make the JTA a truly world class transit authority.”

In order to keep up with the multiple developing projects, the JTA is continuing their strategic partnership with Station Four. Together they will pursue the advancement of public transit’s online presence and accessibility in and around Duval County.
