OSPT Alliance Hosts Webinar on Open Standards

Dec. 3, 2015

OSPT Alliance is hosting a free-to-attend webinar to showcase the value that Cipurse – OSPT Alliance’s open standard – brings to implementations on near field communication (NFC)-enabled devices. The 40 minute sessions, to be held on  at 5 p.m., Dec. 8, and 10 a.m. Dec. 9, and will be of interest to the entire mobile ecosystem, including mobile network operators, handset manufacturers, application developers and terminal manufacturers.

This latest OSPT Alliance webinar will explore how services beyond payment, such as ticketing, loyalty and couponing, are becoming the real drivers of NFC technology as they add tangible value to end-users. OSPT Alliance subject matter experts will also investigate the challenges that implementers face today and explain how these can be addressed by using non-proprietary, open standards.

“To accelerate the adoption of NFC solutions we need to generate opportunities that engage end-users by offering incentives and demonstrating the value and convenience NFC can deliver,” comments Laurent Cremer, executive director, OSPT Alliance. “Services such as transport, couponing and loyalty have this potential. To be commercially viable, however, these solutions need to integrate with existing systems. They also have to be secure yet with a workable testing framework, scalable to long-term requirements and, vitally, interoperable across different technologies and operating systems. The Cipurse standard meets these market needs and many more.”

The session will also present Cipurse Mobile functionality, alongside three Cipurse use cases focusing on end-user deployment, transport operator implementation and using the CIPURSE standard for event ticketing. The webinar is aimed at a non-technical audience.
