Yakima Transit has seen a steady slump in ridership during the last few years, but a new plan using technology aims to boost numbers and make the transportation system more efficient.
Quicker service is just one of several goals Yakima Transit officials have outlined to increase ridership.
A fleet of 25 buses were equipped with more technology this year, including tablets with a real-time heat map showing passenger numbers.
