Metrolinx is warning transit riders about a scam involving Presto cards.
The provincial transit agency said Friday that fake Presto cards are being sold for a reduced price online.
The fraudster verifies the balance with the customer. Then, when the customer gets the card, the funds are withdrawn shortly after.
Presto, which is already being used on GO Transit, will be fully installed on all TTC stations and vehicles by the end of the year.
