Engie will now offer its on-board infotainment solution to North America, enhancing the riders’ experience through the delivery of the right content at the right time.

Integrated with a robust CAD/AVL or receiving GTFS RT data from an existing solution, the on-board information module displays real-time information, service updates, connections, videos or geo-based advertisement, opening the door to a new revenue stream for transit agencies.

This solution is based on an IP screen that has been designed to fit buses, light rail and commuter rail vehicles; has a viewing distance of up to 11 yards; and has a wide viewing angle and an HD resolution.

Keep riders informed

A content management software is offered with the on-board monitor to trigger content along the route. Passengers stay informed through real-time information about their trip such as next stops, places of interest, service updates, connections and detours. If customers’ journey is affected, they will be notified of the disruption ahead.

Point of interest, video, weather or geo-based advertisement can be added to help improve the overall rider experience.

Generating more revenue

Engie says its on-board information system opens a new revenue stream with the integration of geo-based advertisement along the routes. Agencies can partner with local or national businesses to incorporate ads and offer a new level of information to riders.

Enhance security

Through a connection with the on-board cameras, users can also display video streaming on the monitor, providing an additional layer of security for both passengers and bus or rail operators.
