TransIT’s mobile ticketing app introduces fare capping

Feb. 19, 2020
Customers will be notified via text when they’re eligible for one of two buss pass upgrades.

TransIT has introduced fare capping within Token Transit, its mobile ticketing app, allowing TransIT’s customers to have the opportunity to receive one of two bus pass upgrades once they spend beyond a specific cost threshold.

Customers who spend more than $4.00 on one-way trips in a day will automatically be upgraded to a one-day pass in their app. Reduced Fare customers who spend $30 on one-way trips, or General Public customers who spend $50 on one-way trips, will have their fare converted to a monthly pass for the remainder of that 31-day period. Eligible customers for either fare cap will be notified via a text message when their expenditures make them eligible for a ticket upgrade.

Token Transit also allows parents, guardians and community organizations to purchase bus tickets online and send them directly to another phone via text message. To send tickets, visit www.tokentransit.com/send and select TransIT as the agency.
