On Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (Metro) customers who use the Grand Parkway Park & Ride were given access to a new 1,700-space garage.
The multi-level garage replaces nearby surface parking and will offer Metro customers covered parking spaces and ADA-compliant bus access.
To ensure priority parking, Park & Ride customers will tap their Metro Q Fare Card to enter. Partial payment for Park & Ride fare will be deducted upon entry and completed upon tapping to board the bus. Charges will not exceed $4.50, the standard fare for the 222 Grand Parkway route. Discounted fare card rates still apply.
Metro's Discover Bus will be on-site to assist patrons with fare cards to access the garage. Metro staff will be at the Grand Parkway Park & Ride issuing fare cards on the following dates:
Monday - Wednesday, Feb. 13 - 15 (5:30 - 8:30 a.m; 3:30 - 7 p.m.)
Now that the Grand Parkway Park & Ride garage has opened, Metro customers will not be allowed to park in the Cinemark parking lot. Vehicles parked in the theater parking lot will be subject to towing.
