The art of glassmaking is being showcased at the North County Transit Center in Ferguson, Missouri, in a new art exhibit featuring pieces by local artist Ann Beehler.
“Ann’s glassworks are alive with color and form resulting from the fused glass process, a process that allows for spontaneity and surprise,” said David Allen, director of Metro Arts in Transit.
Beehler’s portfolio includes jewelry, functional artwork, fine art projects and other one-of-a-kind pieces. The North St. Louis County artist has been featured as an emerging artist at the St. Louis Art Fair, and her work can be found locally at the Corners Frameshop & Gallery in Ferguson.
Fifteen pieces of her work are currently on display inside the North County Transit Center and will be featured until the end of March.
“Our quarterly art exhibit at the North County Transit Center gives us a wonderful opportunity to highlight beautiful artwork from talented local artists, and at the same time, enhance the transit experience for our riders,” Allen said.
A Metro Arts in Transit program launched in 2016, the quarterly art exhibit at the North County Transit Center provides local artists with an opportunity to showcase their work to the community at the transit center, and share their creativity with Metro riders and visitors.
