NJ: Somerville Approves Transit Village Near Train Station

By a unanimous vote on Wednesday, the borough planning board approved Somerset Development's proposal to build a mixed-use transit village, Somerset Station, by the train station on the vacant landfill in the borough.

By a unanimous vote on Wednesday, the borough planning board approved Somerset Development's proposal to build a mixed-use transit village, Somerset Station, by the train station on the vacant landfill in the borough.

"We've spent 10 years creating and refining the plan for Somerset Station in order to ensure that it is the best possible reflection of a great, transit-oriented focal point for downtown Somerville," said Ralph Zucker, president of Somerset Development based in Holmdel. "That we're now able to finally get to work and execute on this vision is immensely gratifying."
