A Charlotte developer wants to build up to 110 townhomes near a prime Lake Norman intersection and a future Red Line commuter rail station.

The 2,000-square-foot homes by Veer Development LLC would rise on nine acres on the southwest corner of Old Statesville Road and Caldwell Track Drive in Huntersville, according to the developer’s application on with the town.

The project, called Northline Row, would have 279 parking spaces.

That’s north of Sam Furr Road ( N.C. 73) and west of Old Statesville Road.

Public hearing rescheduled

A public hearing on the developer’s rezoning request was originally scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4, but the Huntersville Board of Commissioners, without discussion, unanimously voted that night to defer the hearing to 6 p.m. Sept. 1 at Town Hall, 14704 N. Old Statesville Road.

Deferrals are common when a developer requests more time to present a project.

The request would then go before the Huntersville Planning Board for a recommendation and later to the Town Board for a final decision. Those meeting dates haven’t been announced.

South Charlotte luxury townhomes

In July, Veer Development said it was close to obtaining land development permits for its south Charlotte luxury townhome community called Aria Townhomes, near the intersection of Providence Road and Fairview Road.

“This development will feature elevated design, modern living, and convenient access to Charlotte’s top retail, dining, schools, and everyday amenities,” the developer said on LinkedIn.
