The National Transportation Safety Board’s will unveil its 2017-2018 Most Wanted List of Transportation Safety Improvements during a media briefing scheduled for for 2 p.m., Nov. 14, 2016, in the First Amendment Room of the National Press Club, 529 14th St. NW.

With a goal of bringing more attention to the issues on the Most Wanted List and the safety recommendations that drive them, the NTSB has moved to a two-year cycle for the list instead of issuing it annually. The change allows more time for the transportation industry, safety advocates, regulatory agencies and individuals to effect the changes necessary to address the 10 issues on the Most Wanted List.

“Since 1990 our annual Most Wanted List has been our roadmap from lessons learned to lives saved,” said NTSB Chairman Christopher Hart. “It represents actions which, if taken, will save lives and reduce the number of people injured, and amount of property, damaged in transportation accidents.

Participants in the media briefing include:

  • Christopher A. Hart, NTSB chairman
  • T. Bella Dinh-Zarr, NTSB vice chairman
  • Robert Sumwalt, NTSB board member
  • Earl Weener, NTSB board member

NTSB Board Members will be available for media interviews following the announcement. The NTSB will also host a Twitter Q & A during the press briefing to answer questions about the Most Wanted List.
