BART Police Department (PD) investigators continue to seek witnesses and are now searching for the next of kin for the victim who has been identified as 45 year old Sam White.
White, who was found unconscious by a Civic Center Station Agent on Friday, March 9, 2012, died on April 22, 2012 at San Francisco General Hospital. The San Francisco Medical Examiner has determined the cause of death to be from "complications due to blunt trauma to the head and brain injury." White was described as Caucasian, six foot tall with brown hair and hazel eyes. Investigators continue to urge any BART rider who may have seen the circumstances that led to his death to please contact BART PD with information.

White was wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and white shoes when found by the Station Agent. White was bleeding from his head and found unconscious near the pay phones at the concourse level of BART's Civic Center Station close to the 7th and Market Street exit. Customers pointed out the man but did not wait for investigators to arrive. The BART Police Department issued a plea for help on March 12 and March 22 and is still seeking witnesses to assist in the investigation of White's death.
