Aug. 19, 2016
This week's video update includes videos from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), InnoTrans, Common Good and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) recently announced Operation Track Sweep, a multi-pronged plan to dramatically reduce the amount of trash on subway tracks. The animated video highlighted the process of the work that MTA would undergo to improve the station environment, and reduce track fires and train delays.

InnoTrans is the world’s leading trade fair for rail transport technology and takes place every two years in Berlin. More than 2,940 exhibitors will be exhibiting within the five segments at InnoTrans, including Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure, Public Transport, Interiors and Tunnel Construction. InnoTrans spotlighted how the Berlin Exhibition Grounds are prepped for the trade fair.

Common Good has recently released a three-minute animated video highlighting the need to expedite approval of the proposed Gateway Rail Tunnel Project under the Hudson River. The video – “Transportation Armageddon” – was created for Common Good by Alex Marino, a former writer for “The Daily Show.” It incorporates his humor and perspective in discussing a crucial issue: the need to prevent unnecessary financial and environmental costs from delay of the Project.

Crum Creek Viaduct is a thousand foot bridge that the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is currently replacing, but the bridge needs to remain in service during construction. SEPTA showed how the project construction is underway and how they accommodate the trains.
