Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) celebrated 20 years of light rail operations with a throwback Thursday to when the line first debuted.

The Illinois Department of Transportation operates two free ferries that travel across the Illinois River, improving access across this inland waterway. These ferries are operated 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In this video, IDOT gives a firsthand look at our Brussels Ferry and Kampsville Ferry services.

Community Transit celebrated 40 years of safe, reliable and friendly service to Snohomish County, highlighting responsibility, longevity, and the trust of its riders and communities. Community Transit took the time to recognize employees and riders have helped them achieve this milestone event.

The CTA Second Chance Program, in partnership with the City of Chicago and local social service agencies, provides ex-offenders and other individuals facing barriers to employment the opportunity to obtain full-time on-the-job training as bus and rail car servicers, which can lead to a long-term, meaningful career. The CTA Board of Directors recently approved a new partnership between CTA and City Colleges of Chicago to expand the program.

Metro General Manager/CEO Paul J. Wiedefeld held a press conference for the SafeTrack plan — a comprehensive maintenance effort that will accelerate three years worth of work into approximately one year. The plan significantly expands maintenance time on weekends, weeknights and midday hours and includes 15 "Safety Surges"-long-duration track outages for major projects in key parts of the system.
