At the UITP Global Public Transport Summit 2017, IVU Traffic Technologies has announced it will showcase the latest version of IVU.rail. Its powerful optimization algorithms were recently enhanced to enable even more efficient resource deployment than in previous versions. In addition, the IVU solution includes a remotely accessible employee portal to facilitate employee input and interaction with planners during the scheduling process. The IVU team can be found at booth #2C116.

IVU.rail’s improved optimization algorithms allow rail companies to deploy crew and rolling stock in a considerably more efficient and cost-effective way than before. The system now models the features of rail traffic in more detail. Numerous automation functions assist planners and dispatchers in the creation of optimal and requirements-oriented crew schedules, vehicle schedules and operating schedules.

IVU.rail supports workforce management with various innovative features that enable planners to quickly and easily achieve optimal results. Every task is performed within one system, establishing a complete digital workflow from scheduling to dispatch to payroll. The advanced optimization core of IVU.rail calculates optimum crew schedules for the available train staff to bid on or be assigned to. A detailed, configurable rules system contains all qualitative and quantitative crewing guidelines for assigning duties. Federal regulations, operator-specific labor agreements, staff qualifications and operational requirements are all incorporated in the solution.

With IVU.rail, all employees are involved and informed for the duration of the planning process. A remotely accessible employee portal makes every step of the process transparent for crew staff, crew and management. Staff can bid for jobs, receive notifications of displacements, submit requests and applications for leave, view work schedules, payroll information, and receive or send messages with crew managers in the mobile client. In addition, IVU.rail keeps track of actual working times and forwards deviations from planned working times to payroll for payment calculation—hereby completing the digital workflow and significantly facilitating workflow management.

At the UITP Global Public Transport Summit 2017 (May 15-17, Montréal), IVU Traffic Technologies will showcase the latest version of IVU.rail featuring enhanced optimization algorithms for more efficient resource deployment.
