From September 20 to 23 exhibitors at InnoTrans 2016 will be putting on a spectacular display of debuts, innovations and evolutionary developments on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. Two weeks before the start of the trade fair 114 exhibitors have already announced 131 products that will be making their first appearance on the world stage. Siemens, for example, will be presenting “Mireo”, the new regional and commuter train platform which was specifically designed to meet ever-growing transport demands. Bombardier Transportation has no less than two products making their international debut: the modular vehicle platform for the new “TALENT 3” and the “MOVIA Maxx” metro platform which can be individually adapted to suit operators’ requirements.

Numerous Deutsche Bahn products will also be on show for the first time. The fuel cell developed by DB Bahnbau Gruppe produces electricity without any emissions whatsoever. “Colibri”, a new concept from DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung, offers an impression of what the IT solutions for travel of the future might look like. Lastly, DB Netz AG will be exhibiting its new Series 705.1 tunnel inspection vehicle. Alstom’s new fuel-cell powered train for local regions also produces no emissions and is extremely quiet. The German Aerospace Centre and Andreas Vogler Studio will also be displaying a fascinating concept: the “AeroLiner3000” high-speed double decker train for the UK’s rail network.

At InnoTrans 2016 the Effilight, a lightweight traction transformer from ABB Railway whose unique design significantly reduces oil volume, will be appearing for the first time. So too will the ultra-compact Bordline BC battery charger which features a high specific output, maximum reliability and easy maintenance. The dual-purpose track-laying vehicle from Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks features a railway crane with a work cage and clamshell bucket grab as well as a wagon braking system for towed loads of up to 400 tons.
