From September 20 to 23, “Railway Technology” will be covering 28 halls on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. This core segment of InnoTrans offers 1,660 exhibitors ample space for showcasing their innovations and product debuts, providing trade visitors from around the world with the latest information on Railway Technology. Once again, visitors and exhibitors will be from all parts of the world, with over 60 per cent from countries that include Brazil, India, China and the US.

Global suppliers including Voith Turbo and Knorr-Bremse, as well as leading rail vehicle manufacturers such as GE Transportation, CRRC, Siemens, Bombardier and Alstom will ensure that many highlights will be on display here. Siemens will be bringing Mireo, the company’s new regional and commuter train platform, to the exhibition grounds, while Škoda Transportation will be displaying the ForCity Plus tram for the first time. Voith Turbo will be showcasing its S111 turbo transmission which reduces wear on engine and drive components.

’SAXONY!’ is the heading for all the displays in hall 7.2b. At InnoTrans 2016 24 companies from this federal state will be aiming to establish contact with international partners and investors. Organised by JORSA, Japan’s combined display featuring 33 companies will fully occupy hall 7.2a. The displays of WAGO Kontakttechnik, a German company manufacturing electrical connections and automation technology will also fill an entire hall.

Easy orientation in the display halls

To make it easier for attendees to find their way around in the 28 halls of the segment are sub-divided into key areas. The Outdoor Display will be the place to head to see brand new vehicles. The CityCube Berlin is where global transport companies, industry associations and ministerial delegations will be gathering to engage in an international dialogue.

Various innovation tours will be available to show trade visitors individual areas in the segment such as Energy and Electrical Engineering (Halls 9 to 17) and Driving Gear (Halls 18, 20 and 21a to 23a). Due to high demand by trade visitors this year the number of Railway Technology tours has been increased from two to three.
