Light rail service on the Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT) Blue Line were disrupted on Monday July 11, due to police activity unrelated to RT.
The Sacramento Police Department (Sac PD) is currently investigating an officer-involved shooting near Edgewater Road and Del Paso Boulevard.
Sac PD detained a southbound Blue Line train that was at Del Paso Boulevard and Edgewater Road at approximately 9:30 a.m. as part of the investigation. Approximately 40 passengers were onboard and will be interviewed by Sac PD.
A bus bridge – special shuttle buses transporting passengers from station to station – operated between the Arden/Del Paso and Alkali Flat/La Valentina light rail stations until the Sac PD investigation was completed and trains can resume normal operation.
