The momentum for advertising on the Cincinnati Streetcar is building.

Advertising Vehicles - which has the contract with the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority to sell the naming rights and advertising on the Cincinnati Streetcar - has secured another major advertising contract.

A Cincinnati jeweler since 1896, Richter & Phillips Co. has signed a one-year contract as the exclusive jewelry partner with the Cincinnati Streetcar. The contract includes large exterior ads on two streetcar vehicles and exclusive rights to advertise jewelry on the streetcars.

Richter & Phillips is located on the streetcar route at the corner of Sixth & Main; the jeweler is moving across the street so that it is located at the Sixth & Main Cincinnati Streetcar station.  “Richter & Phillips Jewelers have been invested in downtown for well over 100 years,” said Rick Fehr, owner of Richter & Phillips.  “We are very excited about the addition of the streetcar and all of the new, fun things going on around us downtown. When the streetcar begins operation we will be in our new location and there is a stop right outside our door.”

"The momentum is strong for advertising on the streetcar,” said L. V. Semona, co-founder and director of Sales for Advertising Vehicles. “The contract with Richter & Phillips is gratifying because of the great reputation Rick Fehr and his entire team have as a long-term local business serving downtown and Greater Cincinnati.  We’re proud to welcome them on-board."

It was recently announced that Four Entertainment Group had purchased interior ads on the streetcars, and several other advertising contracts are being finalized now. With only five streetcars, businesses are moving quickly to secure prime advertising space.  Approximately $181,000 in advertising commitments are already in place for the Cincinnati Streetcar.
