Crews from the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) crews need to close part of the Red Line this month to complete a major track upgrade between two rail stations. The work will affect customers using Rapid Stations at the Airport, Brookpark, Puritas, West Park, Triskett and West 117th Street.
From Sunday, April 10, through Saturday, April 23, buses will replace trains between the Triskett Station and the West Boulevard-Cudell Station. RTA employees will be on hand to help the passenger flow at each station.
Eastbound: Riders will get off the train at the Triskett Station, ride a 66R bus to the West Boulevard-Cudell Station, and complete their train ride.
Westbound: Riders will get off the train at the West Boulevard-Cudell Station, ride a 66R bus to the Triskett Station, and complete their train ride.
Red Line service will operate every 15 minutes between Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and the Triskett Station, and again between the West Boulevard-Cudell Station and the Louis Stokes Station at Windermere.
The transfer is expected to add about 25 minutes to commute times. Riders will have 6-8 minutes to make bus-rail transfers at the stations.
Buses will pick up passengers at the specially marked 66R bus stop signs at the Triskett Station, on West 117 Street at Madison Avenue (buses will not enter the station loop), and at the West Blvd - Cudell Station. A new Red Line timetable has been issued, with an effective date of April 10, 2016.
