The Cincinnati Streetcar: the most unique advertising vehicle in town.
The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority has announced that Advertising Vehicles Inc. will handle the sale of naming rights and advertising on the Cincinnati Streetcar vehicles. The revenue will be used for streetcar operations.
- Naming rights are available for the entire streetcar system — all five vehicles — under a long-term contract with many additional promotional benefits.
- Advertising will be sold for space on the streetcars not included in the naming rights contract. Advertising can be bought on the lower exterior side panels and designated interior spaces including ceilings and floors. The naming rights contractor may choose to purchase these spaces for an additional cost as an option, making them unavailable to other advertisers.
Advertising Vehicles will handle streetcar advertising sales as an extension of its current transit advertising contract with the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority. The Metro bus contract has generated more than $4.6 million over the past 9.5 years, averaging almost $500,000 per year.
“It’s great to see that SORTA has secured a company with the experience and knowledge of the Cincinnati market,” said Councilmember Amy Murray who chairs Cincinnati’s Major Transportation Committee. “I’m hopeful that they will be able to maximize advertising revenue for the ongoing operations of the streetcar.”
“Advertising Vehicles is thrilled to offer Cincinnati area businesses a unique way to truly be woven into the fabric of our city,” said Ken Black, co-founder of Advertising Vehicles. “The Streetcar is going to compound the great energy and excitement that is going on downtown and we have already talked to many businesses that are excited about the possibility to join their brand to this new Cincinnati landmark.”
