Local industries like Kodak and Rochester Gas & Electric depended on the railroads to serve our communities for generations. To honor those contributions, the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum will host Kodak/RG&E Weekend on Sept. 19-20. Eastman Kodak Co. formed the Kodak Park Railroad to transport materials and finished goods within their sprawling 1,300 acre manufacturing facility. Rochester Gas & Electric used a fleet of diesel switchers to move loaded coal cars around Russel Station and BeeBee Station.
The museum is home to the largest collection of historic trains and operating vintage diesel locomotives in New York State. Your mile-and-a-half round-trip train ride begins at the 1909 Industry Depot located on Route 251 West in the Town of Rush. Tour our former Eastman Kodak and Rochester Gas & Electric trains that are now part of our museum collection. Take a ride behind an RG&E locomotive! All past and present employees of Kodak and RG&E get $1.00 off their admission for this special weekend event.
All train rides depart from Industry Depot, located at 282 Rush Scottsville Road, Rush, N.Y., 14543. Ticket price includes museum admission and unlimited train rides. Tickets are $10 for Adults (18+), $8 for Seniors (65+), $8 for Youth (5-17). Train rides depart every half hour from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
