Artists and entertainers can get their big break performing in front of thousands of people through Metro’s Art in Transit Program “MetroPerforms!” Singers, dancers, musicians, poets, and other talented individuals or groups are encouraged to audition to be selected to perform at Metrorail station entrances through August.
Auditions will be held June 30, form 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Metro headquarters. Performers will audition on a first-come, first-served basis.
Selected artists perform on a volunteer basis, must complete a security background check and are expected to adhere to performance program guidelines.
In addition to performing at station entrances, acts may be chosen for Music on the Mall – a program developed by Metro in cooperation with the National Park Service and the Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton.
