Parsons Welcomes Jannet Walker to Company

Parsons announced the appointment of Jannet M. Walker as vice president and deputy eastern sector manager for the corporation’s rail and transit systems division. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, her primary focus will be growing the rail and transit business in the eastern United States, providing leadership in overall operations and sector management.

“We are delighted that Jannet has joined our team,” said Todd Wager, Parsons Group president. “She is well respected in the industry and possesses the depth of experience that will assist the corporation in expanding its rail and transit service offerings.”

Walker brings to Parsons more than 20 years of experience in transportation leadership, including program management and management consulting in the public and private sectors. She has a diverse background in aviation as well as rail and transit systems, providing expertise in numerous areas, including information technology, strategic operations, organizational strategy, communications, government relations and business development. She has served as deputy program director for the Philadelphia International Airport’s multimillion-dollar Capacity Enhancement Program — the largest such program in the United States — and as the deputy CEO/deputy general manager for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) during which time she provided leadership for the design and installation of the Breeze Program, a $200-million, state-of-the-art, smartcard-based regional fare collection system.

Walker holds a master’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from the University of Memphis. She holds memberships in numerous industry organizations, including the American Public Transportation Association, the Commission of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), the Women’s Transportation Seminar, and the IT Senior Management Forum.
