As of May 1, repair work, which will continue until February, will be undertaken at the Place d'Armes station, which will generate the closure of the entrance of the Saint-Urbain Street.
The reconstruction aims to improve traffic flow, to improve the lighting and initiate the station transformation process towards universal accessibility. Specifically, the work of almost $ 6.2 million, 75 percent funded by the Ministry of Transport of Quebec, primarily:
- The expansion of the kiosk
- The addition of a ramp
- Relocation turnstiles
- Replacement of floor finish
- To refurbish the windows
- The waterproofing of the station
The installation of elevators will be in a separate project, to be started as soon as the first project is completed.
