Charlotte Area Transit System is partnering with Friendship Gardens for a fourth season to bring fresh produce to the Charlotte Transportation Center (CTC). The market opens April 2, from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. It will be open to the public every Thursday through October.
“Partnering with Friendship Gardens is one way CATS is working to further its mission of improving the quality of life for citizens in the Charlotte region,” said CATS Interim CEO John Muth.
Friendship Gardens Mobile Market is a legacy program from the 2012 Democratic National Convention. The program aims to build on the work of local organizations and people committed to ending childhood obesity, increasing access to healthy foods, and promoting healthy lifestyles in Charlotte and the region.
The program accepts cash, credit cards, and EBT/SNAP benefits.
