RailComm has been selected to provide remote control to multiple switch locations and install a shove track protection system at a Class 1 hump yard located in North Carolina.
The switch locations will be controlled and monitored via a redundant server running the DOC® System – RailComm’s proprietary yard control application. This installation will benefit from RailComm’s Expandable Automation Controller (EAC). The EAC is RailComm’s next generation controller platform that provides more functionality and flexibility including expandable I/O channels, remote diagnostics, and more.
RailComm’s Shove Track Protection System provides remote indication of shove track status allowing train operators to know when their train has reached the limits of a shove zone. The Shove Track Protection System is comprised of both an Indication subsystem and a Detection subsystem. The Indication subsystem is responsible for displaying an indication that is consistent with the status of the Detection subsystem.
All communications to the field and back to the central location will be via the fiber network provided by the customer.
