FAAC Inc. announced the addition of Nigel Lindsey-King to its subject matter specialists (SMS) group.
Lindsey-King, former superintendent of surface transportation training and a curriculum development specialist for the Toronto Transit Commission (ret.) has, over the course of a 30-year career in both surface and rail transit, developed a comprehensive skillset that will aid current and future FAAC transit customers in many ways.
“During his tenure at the TTC Nigel was fundamentally involved in many large-scale projects, such as curriculum development and acquisitions, and he has developed a depth and breadth of expertise that will stand up well to the changing nature of the transit training industry,” said David Bouwkamp, FAAC’s executive director of business development. “We are proud to add Nigel to our subject matter specialists group. His addition brings a seasoned administrative and academic perspective to the group.”
Lindsey-King’s duties will include ongoing transit curriculum development and refinement, developing and strengthening customer and industry relationships, improving FAAC’s product lineup, and acting as a customer advocate.
In 2007 FAAC delivered its flagship MB-2000 to the TTC. Lindsey-King oversaw the acquisition process and development of the simulator curriculum for operators, which puts him in a unique position to provide FAAC engineers and developers with the customer’s perspective.
“I am honored that the executive team at FAAC believes I have expertise to offer their company and its customers,” Lindsey-King said. “My new responsibilities enable me to bring my passion for transit and training to the other side of the acquisition process. From working with FAAC in the past I know they make a quality product, and I am happy to add my expertise in crafting the industry’s leading driver training simulators.”
Among other experiences, Lindsey-King brings to FAAC a thorough understanding of the procurement process.
“Nigel is a veteran of the acquisition process, and he brings the experience of having developed technical, complex RFPs knowing he that needed high-tech training tools,” said Clayne Woodbury, FAAC’s North American sales manager for transit. “His attention to detail and deep understanding of the customer’s needs will improve FAAC’s processes and procedures.”
