IL: CTA Train Operators, Others Would Get Raises Under Deal Between Unions, Transit Agency

The unions that represent CTA’s rail and bus workers have reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement with the agency, which includes raises and retroactive pay for workers, according to the bus drivers’ union.

The unions that represent CTA’s rail and bus workers have reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement with the agency, which includes raises and retroactive pay for workers, according to the bus drivers’ union.

The CTA board will be asked to OK the agreement during its regular monthly meeting Wednesday. The agreement affects the agency’s largest unions, which represent a total of about 9,000 workers.

Amalgamated Transit Union Local 308, which represents those who operate “L" trains, along with janitors, track welders, and car repair and other employees, and ATU Local 241, which represents bus drivers, mechanics, bus services, janitors and other workers.
