IL: Chicago Transit Authority Gets New President with Extensive Transit Track Record

The Chicago Transit Authority has a new president in Dorval Carter.

Carter succeeds Forrest Claypool, a veteran politician and city official who is exiting the Chicago's public transit system to become Mayor Rahm Emanuel's new chief of staff. Claypool is being given a new role at a critical moment as the Mayor formally begins his second term in office next week. Claypool had been CTA president since 2011.

Carter most recently was acting chief of staff for Anthony Foxx, the United States Secretary of Transportation in Washington, D.C.
