A woman was killed by a Seattle Link Light Rail train early Sunday while walking on the tracks, police said.

The woman was walking down the tracks south of Renton Avenue and Martin Luther King Junior Way about 1 a.m., police told Seattle's KING-TV.

The train operator repeatedly blew a warning horn and applied "maximum brakes," but the woman did not make a move to leave the tracks, Sound Transit officials said.

The woman died of her injuries at Harborview Medical Center.
