CALGARY - A light-rail transit train operator in Calgary who was caught doing a crossword puzzle while at the controls has learned the hard way what the five-letter word is for job dismissal.
Calgary Transit says the employee was fired after investigators determined that a photograph of the operator's cab showed the train was in motion while the driver was preoccupied with the puzzle.
The picture was taken by a passenger last week just after the train had left a station.
The photo was later posted on the Internet.
Ron Collins, a transit spokesman, says the employee's actions breached a department rule that operators must pay full attention to their duties.
Collin says no details about the driver are being made public due to confidentiality. (CHQR)
