Railquip, Bringing Green and Noise Reduction to Rail Maintenance

Oct. 18, 2017
Railquip’s battery powered railcar mover offers maintenance facilities a greener choice that also has the benefit of noise reduction.

Railquip Inc. spotlighted its B-MAXI L, battery powered railcar mover. The B-MAXI offers a greener and versatile choice to the standard railcar movers, which are typically powered by diesel.

James Skaggs, assistant sales director, Railquip explained that they refer to the product as ‘going green’. “We call it going green because it is a rechargeable railcar move. Most of them are done using a lot of diesel fuels. The (B-MAXI L) is also low noise, so it can run inside of your shop.”

The B-MAXI L is lighter than most railcar movers and it is also operated by remote. Skaggs added that in 2018 there will be another version coming out that will be very similar, but universal to different forms of rail — currently Railquip customizes each B-MAXI to fit the needs of a system.
