Curious about TCAT’s planning process? Got a suggestion on how to make your ride easier? Wonder what’s going on with those electric buses you heard about on the news?

The public is invited to TCAT’s open house 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tues., Oct. 16, at Tompkins County Public Library, BorgWarner East Community Room, 101 E. Green St., Ithaca, where your questions about TCAT – no matter how big or small – will be welcome. The open house is the first in what will be a semi-annual forum for TCAT to collect ideas and observations from the community on how to improve its local transit system.

In August, TCAT invited the public to offer broader-based feedback for its strategic plan, which will be finalized later this fall. These twice-year sessions, on the other hand, will give TCAT riders and stakeholders an opportunity to engage with TCAT staff to talk about more specific service issues, projects and current ridership data.

Future open sessions will be held in different venues around the county so as to hear a diversity of feedback from riders and non-riders alike.
