Proterra announces staff updates

Mike Hennessy has been named vice president of sales; Lauren Cochran Scoville has been promoted to senior director of sales, southwest U.S.; and Josh Helm has been hired as regional sales director, southeast U.S.

Proterra has made several updates to its staff, including one hire and two promotions.

Josh Helm has joined Proterra has the regional sales director of the southeast U.S., Lauren Cochran Scoville has been promoted to senior director of sales for the southwest U.S., and Mike Hennessy has been named vice president of sales.

Helm brings more than 12 years of sales experience to Proterra and has been in the transportation industry for eight years. Most recently, Helm was a regional sales manager at American Seating, and prior to that he sold fleet management solutions as a sales executive at Fortress Mobile. Previously, Helm played professional basketball in Europe and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Mercyhurst University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

Prior to her new role, Cochran Scoville served as director of innovation for the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, and prior to that was Foothill Transit’s director of maintenance and vehicle technology. She is also a Leadership American Public Transportation Association (APTA) graduate, secretary of APTA’s Connected and Automated Vehicle Committee and holds a master’s in Public Administration from the University of Southern California.

Hennessy is in his ninth year with Proterra and has more than 40 years of experience in the transit industry, formerly serving as general manager of bus operations at the Chicago Transit Authority. He is an active member of APTA and has held a number of leadership positions on various committees, including chair of the International Bus Roadeo committee.
