Jorge Cruz-Aedo, Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority's (CCRTA) chief executive officer (CEO), has begun his term as president of the Texas Transit Association (TTA).

TTA was organized in 1986, and has a mission of supporting the needs of Texas public transportation systems through statewide advocacy and education. TTA members include Texas metropolitan, small urban and rural transit agencies, as well as private and public entities from across the United States.

Cruz-Aedo has been with CCRTA for more than a decade, and has served as CEO since 2016. CCRTA represents one of the largest transit service regions in the state of Texas, and serves more than 846-square miles within nine communities in the Coastal Bend region.

A U.S. Navy Veteran, Cruz-Aedo has more than forty years of experience in private and public finance and administration. He has served as president of the Government Finance Officers Association for both the state of Texas and Arizona, and as a board member of the Government Treasurers Organization of Texas. Cruz-Aedo is currently a member of the Corpus Christi Visitors Bureau Board of Directors, and says he looks forward to serving as president of the Texas Transit Association.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to work with transportation agencies across the state of Texas," Cruz-Aedo said. "TTA will continue to pursue greater resources for transit organizations, focus on transportation education and equitability for all communities, and build collective support for public transportation throughout the state of Texas."

TTA presidents can serve up to two consecutive terms of one year.
