Larry M. Greenberger, executive vice president of transportation has announced his retirement from Endeavor Business Media (EBM) effective July 1, 2020.
Greenberger started in publishing when he accepted a position at The McGraw Hill Companies, with 12 of those years at BusinessWeek magazine as sales director. He also served at Hunter Publishing as group publisher automotive, Chilton Publishing as national sales manager automotive and VNU Business Media as publisher of DDI magazine before he joined Cygnus as the publisher of Firehouse Magazine. He returned to automotive as group publisher of the Vehicle Repair Group (VRG). VRG has grown into one of EBM's most profitable groups, and today, Mass Transit is the leading brand for public transit, according to EBM. The editorial team has earned 91 editorial and design awards from various industry organizations over the past six years.
“As the saying goes, find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life,” said Greenberger. “That we help our audience do their jobs better is what brings me happily to work every day. I am leaving a great team. My heartfelt thanks to this group for accomplishing executing our mission for so many consecutive years.”
EBM CEO Chris Ferrell added, “Larry told me that he likes working at Endeavor because of the entrepreneurial atmosphere where great ideas quickly become an industry product or offering. We are grateful for his service and dedication over the years as Cygnus transitioned to SouthComm Business Media, before most recently being acquired by Endeavor Business Media in 2018. I have appreciated Larry ever since I first met him in 2014. He has always been so passionate about his brands and about his team. Larry has done a great job identifying and developing talent in his group and it showed in their work.”
Reggie Lawrence will add Endeavor’s Transportation brands to the portfolio that he manages to fill the void left by Greenberger’s retirement. Lawrence spent many years selling and managing FleetOwner and its related brands. The Mass Transit team will be joining EBM's City Services group.
“Reggie has brought a lot of good ideas and energy to Endeavor and we know that he will help us continue to build our brands in the transportation industry,” said Ferrell.
Tracy Smith, who was the vice president of the Design Engineering group, has been promoted to executive vice president and will continue to oversee Design Engineering, but will now report directly to CRO/CMO June Griffin instead of being part of Lawrence’s group.
“We realized very quickly what talent and experience Tracy brings to her work,” said Ferrell. “We had been looking for the opportunity to promote her and this transition gave us the chance to do just that.”
