For the fourth year in a row the Greater Dayton RTA has been awarded the Auditor of the State Award for its exemplary financial reporting in accordance with statewide principles.
The Auditor of the State Award is only given to a very select group of organizations across Ohio that meet strict guidelines set up by State Auditor Dave Yost’s office. Each year more than 5,600 organizations are audited across Ohio and less than 10 percent receive the Auditor of the State Award.
The RTA’s Chief Financial Officer Mary Stanforth credited the hard work of all departments to accurately and responsibly record budgets as part of what led to the receipt of this award.
“Financial success is critically important to any organization especially political subdivisions such as ourselves,” Stanforth said.
“I personally can attest, that regardless of what department at the Greater Dayton RTA, our employees are plugged in to budgeting and financial results,” she added.
Organizations that receive the award must meet the following criteria:
- They must file a timely financial report in accordance with “Generally Accepted Accounting Principles” of the state
- The report must not contain any negative findings
- The report must not contain any negative comments regarding ethics, questioned costs, or reconciliation.
The RTA has earned this award from the State of Ohio Auditor’s Office in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015 and 2016.
