Skanska has announced a series of promotions and new hires in support of its growing building construction business in California.

As Skanska’s portfolio grows, it aims to cultivate its Injury-Free Environment culture in its communities through intentional growth in environmental health and safety (EHS) practices. In support of this:

  • John Baradin was promoted to EHS director. Baradin has 13 years of industry experience, five of them with Skanska.
  • Christopher Paczocha was promoted to senior EHS manager. Paczocha has nearly 15 years of industry experience, two at Skanska.
  • Marvin Guevara was hired as EHS manager. Guevara has over 10 years of experience.

Supporting that safety culture and overall operational excellence in the field are Skanska’s superintendents. With more work coming online, Skanska has hired two Senior Superintendents in California:

  • Terry Friedl, who has nearly 40 years of industry experience.
  • Chuck Harris, a 35-year industry veteran.

Both will coordinate and supervise all field operations from the beginning of their projects until completion and acceptance by the owner.

Additionally, Skanska announced two other promotions:

Jeanne Gambill has been promoted to project executive. Gambill has nearly 25 years of industry experience and has worked at Skanska for the last nine years. She provides direct management oversight for the construction team and is the owner's day-to-day point of contact during the construction phase.

Gilbert Lee has been promoted to preconstruction director. Lee has 30 years of industry experience. Originally located in Skanska’s San Antonio office, Lee brings a variety of experience to the job including work in pharmaceutical, health science, hospitality, and commercial markets. Lee maintains a vast understanding of the complex phasing and equipment lead time needed to guarantee a successful project.
