The Orange County Transportation Authority recently announced the 2016 Employees of the Year: Ruben Rodriguez of Norwalk, Debora Munguia of Fullerton and Gina Jimenez of Huntington Beach.

“It’s an honor to recognize these three employees for the excellent service they provide to OCTA,” said OCTA Chairman Michael Hennessey. “They are the ideal example of public servants who are dedicated to improving the lives of everyone who live and work in Orange County.”

Norwalk resident Ruben Rodriguez is OCTA’s coach operator of the year. Rodriguez has been at OCTA for 15 years. Along with driving his favorite route down the 57 freeway, he also serves as a line captain and helps the scheduling department by running test trips. Over the years Rodriguez has demonstrated professionalism and dedication throughout his work. He has a 13-year safe driving record and passenger safety is his top priority.

Fullerton resident Debora Munguia was named the OCTA maintenance employee of the year. Munguia was hired as a service worker at the Santa Ana Base in April 2002. She works closely with the maintenance team in removing graffiti, servicing staff vehicles and refueling buses. Throughout her time at OCTA, Munguia has always shown a positive attitude and an ability to work hard at any task.

Huntington Beach resident Gina Jimenez was named administrative employee of the year. Jimenez joined OCTA in 2008 with the external affairs division and later transferred to general services in the finance and administration division. Jimenez was instrumental in helping with the build out of OCTA’s new Board and Conference Center.

Jimenez consistently displays a high degree of integrity, customer service and teamwork. She leads with her can-do spirit and great communication skills.
